Pedals and Pints: The Long Haul (Dunbar to Ohiopyle)

Join the Fayette Trails Coalition for an out-and-back bicycle ride along the Sheepskin Trail from Dunbar to Ohiopyle and back to Dunbar. Riders will enjoy a scenic day on the trail with a planned pit stop at the Twisted Spoke Cafe. This is a longer-distance recreational ride intended for cyclists who are comfortable spending several hours on the trail.

Check-in: 8:30 AM

Ride Departure: 9:00 AM

Estimated End Time: 5:00 PM

Starting Location: Sheepskin Trail, Bridge Street, Dunbar, PA

Route: Dunbar to Ohiopyle and back to Dunbar (~34 miles round trip)

What to Bring:

  • A bicycle in safe working condition

  • A properly fitted bicycle helmet

  • Water and snacks

  • A spare tube and basic repair supplies

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Money or a payment method for the Twisted Spoke Cafe

Morgantown Running 4 on the 4th

Join Morgantown Running for a 4-mile race on the 4th of July! 🏃There is a 1-mile kids race, too.

RACE DATE: Saturday, July 4, 2026

RACE LOCATION: The 4-mile course will start on the rail-trail behind the Seneca Center.

RACE TIME: The 4-mile run/walk will start at 8:00AM, and the 1-mile kids race will start at 9:00AM

1-MILE COURSE: The kids mile will be out and back on the rail-trail. Their start line will be at the finish line for the 4-mile course. The mile will go towards Deckers Creek and use the same finish line as the 4-mile race.

Fairmont Celebrate Trails Day

Celebrate Trails Day is an annual celebration of America’s trails started by the Rails to Trails Conservancy.

You’re invited to join a Celebrate Trails Day event on the Marion County Trail (MCTrail)! Events will be held at both the Prickett’s Fork & the Winfield Street Trailheads. Enjoy fitness classes and a group run/walk, a scavenger hunt for kids, and more! There will be drinks, snacks, and freebies, too.

Trail Care Thursday - Eliza Furnace

Join us on the Eliza Furnace section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for a Trail Care Thursday opportunity!

Volunteers will:

  • Collect litter along the trail and surrounding areas

  • Remove stickers and graffiti from amenities

  • Cut vines or undesired vegetation

  • Other general trail maintenance needs

Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and layered sleeves to be removed. Monitor the forecast and dress for the weather, we will work through light to moderate rain. Bring a reusable water bottle, water will not be available. All other project supplies and equipment will be provided.

Connellsville to Dunbar Winter Ride

Connellsville to Dunbar Winter Ride

Join Bryan Perry, Executive Director of the Great Allegheny Passage Conservancy, for an out-and-back winter bike ride from Connellsville to Dunbar.

This route is 7.6 miles in total, and we'll aim to enjoy sections of the GAP and the Sheepskin Trail, ending at Kickstand Kitchen for lunch. As long as it's above 20F at 11:00 am, this ride is on!

Meet outside Connellsville Canteen. Bring your own bicycle and come prepared for winter weather.
